Global Warming
2009-10-01Global warming is the increase in average temperature of the earth. This global warming is a result of heat getting trapped in the earth’s atmosphere by the green house gases like carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. These gases act as a blanket that prevents the heat reflected / emitted by the objects on the earth’s surface from escaping. Deforestation remains a major cause for the increase in CO2 percentage in the atmosphere. As a result of global warming, the polar ice caps melt which in turn increases the sea level. The hot places become hotter and the cool places become cooler, thus people will experience extreme climatic conditions.
